- Name: Vega (brand), Technical and Optical Equipment Ltd.; London (GB)
- Abbreviation: Vega
- Summary: Technical and Optical Equipment (TOE) Ltd., Zenith House, The Hyde, Edgware Road, London NW9 6EE (1986)
Importer and reseller of Soviet made radios, TVs, cameras, microscopes and other electrical and optical equipment.
As with the similar company Comix in France, we list here the (mostly re-labeled) radios and TVs of Soviet origin that were imported by TOE and marketed in Great Britain.
- Note: Not all products bear the Vega brand / logo, although they were advertised as such. For those models, please see the respective manufacturers. We currently don't know if Vega branded radios were sold only in the UK by TOE, or if this brand was also used in other countries by other Soviet export agencies. All models except a few sold by TOE in the UK are branded "Vega" however.
- Founded: 1963
- History: Technical and Optical Equipment Ltd. started selling Soviet radio and television products in 1963. The business was run by Fanny James and Raphael Hyams. They took on the agency for the entire Soviet camera production at an unknown date.
TOE was acquired in 1968 by Mashpriborintorg by means of political and economic pressure (the owners were forced out) and then acted as an import company for Soviet made products.
