Mercedes-Benz O 317 G Vetter (Stuttgart SSB) 1/87

A project that began in 2024 and came to an end in 2026.

My good friend Thomas A. from Kornwestheim contacted me in 2024 to ask if I could help him build a 1/87 scale model bus. During his career, Thomas drove various buses for the SSB (Stuttgarter Strassenbahn). He has almost all of them in 1/87 scale. Only the Mercedes-Benz O 317 G by Vetter was missing. Partly because no other scale model of it existed. Until now!

I was more than happy to take on this challenge. Thomas provided the beautifully detailed 3D-drawings, for which I must once again offer my compliments.

Using his data files, I was able to get to work with my 3D printers. After some prototyping, a whole batch of parts was ready to be sent off to Kornwestheim. Thomas was then able to get to work and build the stunning model shown below.
